About this “proof of concept” – Elements of Splitrock Thinking.

This website reflects my experiences as a Rabbi within the Jewish community, and my years in information technology, strategic planning and project management. Splitrock Thinking is my attempt to cull the varied experiences into a concept applicable on the individual, group and business, setting whether in the non-profit or global corporation setting.

Probably the simpliest definition of Splitrock Thinking in problem solving is “to always consider alternatves.” In biblical text interpretation there are multiple layers such as those with PaRDeS: the literal, the figurative, the lessons learnable, and the yet to be discovered. In project management and process improvement: Peshat – statement of the problem, Remez – aspects that need to be considered, Drash – possible solutions, and Sod – problem resolution.

A project starts with an idea, something that demonstrates the validity or “Proof of Concept” that is presented to stakeholders for a “green light” for the initiation of the project planning. This website is designed to be a “Proof on Concept” for Splitrock Thinking. Feedback from visitors will shape the transition to the next steps in the process of establishing implementation activities.

But Remember in Splitrock Thinking: You are the hammer that is applied to text, problems, art and life situations. Splitrock Thinking yields multiple possibilities, one of which might just be the most productive!
